Even Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin wants to drill in ANWR. She even sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid asking, "What will it take for Congress to enact [a] comprehensive energy policy that includes increased domestic production of oil and gas, renewable and alternative energy, and conservation?"

If she can figure out that drilling in ANWR "can be conducted in a safe manner" then why can't the idiots who promised us a commonsense plan for relief at the pump when they took over Congress?
