Obama calls Ferraro's statements "patently absurd"

It's no great secret Geraldine Ferraro said, "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman, he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept." Now, Obama says that is "patently absurd."

We find ourselves in a rare situation. We agree with Feraro. If Obama were white he would be no where near where he is. The man does not talk about issues, he speaks in generalities. What white male candidate would the media allow to get away with this? Especially a white male Republican. Can you name one?

Some will argue all politicians speak in generalities. To some extent that may be true but then the media gets on the candidate when that candidate generates steam. Unfortunately that is not true for Obama. Like the Saturday Night Live routine where they offer a pillow to make Obama more comfortable, the media give Obama a free ride and now attacks Ferraro.

While we don't like Ferraro's liberalism we do like the fact she has taken a stand and said something many others only think about saying.

Now let's see if the media finally catches on.
