Veto, Veto, Veto
Sorry we haven't posted in a while but we had a problem with our old computer... it died. Anyway, here we are, back to posting and still trying to migrate our old files and such from the old computer to this garbage called Windows Vista.
As to the news of the day, President Bush vetoed a bill that would have given $35 billion over five years for the S-CHIP health program. Taxes on tobacco products would have been raised to pay for the increase.
Thankfully he vetoed the bill. S-CHIP was (or is) supposed to be for poor children but support of this bill would have expanded S-CHIP beyond its original intent. Bush is right, give them $5 billion and keep it for the poor kids.
Besides, isn't it time to leave smokers alone?
